Nadine Bachan was born in Trinidad and raised in Toronto.

She is a graduate of the Professional Writing BA Program at York University. She also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia.

As a freelance editor, Nadine specializes in copyright research. Her clients have included McGraw-Hill Education, Emond Publishing, Page Two Books, John Wiley & Sons, Penguin Canada, University of Toronto Press, Pearson Canada, and Bloomsbury (both UK and US divisions). She is currently the Copyright Consultant for the Faculty of Continuing Education at Mount Royal University.

Her writing has been anthologized and appears in several publications, including THIS Magazine, Hazlitt, Maisonneuve, The New Quarterly, Canthius, the Best Canadian Essays series, and the Canadian edition of The Broadview Anthology of Expository Prose.

Nadine lives in Vancouver with her partner Brodie, and is working on personal essays and a collection of linked short stories.
